TRAFFICGAUGE
TrafficGauge Inc. is a Seattle-based tech start-up co-founded by myself and three others in the fall of 2002. TrafficGauge’s mission is to deliver real-time traffic information where it’s needed most—in the car, the home, or at the office—to conserve energy and reduce wasted time and unnecessary stress on the road. Since it’s debut in 2003 the TrafficGauge Mobile Traffic Map has attracted wide national attention and the praise of numerous mainstream media such as:
Intelligent Transportation Society of America
“TrafficGauge Inc. forever changed the way drivers receive traffic updates when it launched the first real-time mobile traffic map for Los Angeles and Orange County.”
New York Times
“Tired of gridlock? A new gadget from TrafficGauge Inc., a Seattle company, receives real-time data about traffic conditions. It lets you decide when to take an alternate route and when to just turn around and go home”
Los Angeles Times
“The beauty of TrafficGauge... is that if enough people are paying attention to freeway volume conditions it not only helps each individual but the overall system as well. I tested the device for two weeks and ended up loving it until it was stolen out of my car.”
NBC : The Today Show
“For the simple-conscious.”
MTV : Pimp My Ride
“You’ve got the TrafficGauge so you’ll never get stuck in traffic again.”
“That’s tight. That’s tight, I like that.”
Wired Magazine
“Sometimes, simplicity is what makes a tech tool great, and the TrafficGauge handheld freeway map is proof positive. TrafficGauge does only one thing, and does it well... The LCD might look as primitive as a Tamagotchi, but instant access to traffic info has become as invaluable to my commute as the radio or my brakes... Rating: 10/10.”
Popular Science
“Driving home during rush hour in Los Angeles is like wading blindfolded and ear-plugged through a pool of piranhas... for less than $100 the TrafficGauge solves that.”
NPR
“Everyday you could use this to avoid traffic jams. It’s kind of like having a psychic friend. Incredibly reassuring.” |
