Qualifications
  1. MFA in Photography
  2. active exhibiting artist with a record of artistic achievement
  3. knowledge of Macintosh computers, relevant software and Epson printers
  4. ability to teach traditional film photography, alternative processes and digital imaging from a fine arts and commercial perspective
  5. ability to teach foundation courses. Strong candidates will possess a record of teaching and professional experience in the field, as well as a solid record of creative achievement. Applicants should have extensive knowledge of and experience with the Macintosh platform as well as all relevant design software including Photoshop.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will involve teaching introductory, advanced, and graduate
photography courses including the history of photography as well as the development and expansion of the digital imaging curriculum. Participation in curriculum development, academic advising, committee work within the School of Art and the University will be included in this position. The candidate will be expected to interact with both undergraduate and graduate students. Minor maintenance of computer labs and network, participation in curriculum development, academic advising, and committee work within the School of Art and across campus are also components of the position.

Louisiana Tech, a university of 11,000 students, is located in Ruston, with a population of 25,000. It is sixty miles from Shreveport/Bossier City, and thirty miles from Monroe/West Monroe - cities of 250,000 and 100,000 respectively.
Our Program
The School of Art is one of the largest units within the College of Liberal Arts. The
School has four hundred art majors in the following degree programs: BFA and MFA in Communication Design, Photography, and Studio. Our programs are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
